Lisa Weatherspoon

Professional Profile

Originally from New Orleans, LA, Lisa Weatherspoon is the proud mother and grandmother of one son, Nathan Sr. and two adorable grandkids, Nathan Jr (6) and Harmonee (5). After serving 20 plus years in the U.S. Army (Active and Reserves), Lisa retired in San Antonio, Tx where she currently resides. Lisa is a member of New Creation Christian Fellowship under the leadership of the dynamic duo, Senior Pastor, Bishop David Michael Copeland and Pastor Claudette Anderson Copeland (Emerita). Lisa faithfully serves on the Pastor’s Aide Team, Sisterhood, and Intercessory Prayer Team. She is also a member of the CSM Prayer Line Tribe of Judah, under the leadership of Senior Director, Dr. Winnetta Flakes.

Growing up, Lisa always had a passion to help people, especially those whom she refers to as the “underdogs with an infectious smile that would light up a room.” Today, that passion still holds strong and has motivated Lisa to obtain a Master’s degree in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio, Texas. Lisa’s future goal stems from a desire to open a non-profit organization she has identified as a “Boyz to Men” type organization that will help at-risk youth being raised by single mothers discover their God-given gifts and talents. Lisa plans to offer teaching and training to these young men to help them develop successful everyday life skills that will serve them throughout life to adulthood. Lisa is also currently working on a book entitled The Enemy Within A ME.

Serving in the military has allowed Lisa to travel many awesome places, hold various positions, experience many exciting adventures and meet many wonderful people, but the greatest of these encounters, says Lisa, “is accepting Christ as my Lord and Savior and serving His people.” Lisa is truly gifted by God and holds the heart of a servant.
