Professional Profile

A native of California who now resides in Houston, Texas, Minister Brenda Burton is the Intercessory Leader of South Union Missionary Baptist Church (SUMBC) in Houston.

She travels with a team of intercessors to nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, and in-home devotional groups to bring prayer, songs and scriptures to encourage and lift up the spirits of many (Matthew 25:36).

She also helps with various auxiliaries, such as Women in Action (WIA) where she covers the women in prayer, and the Senior Mission (SUMBC) with whom she travels, covering the speaker as she goes out to minister. God has also given Minister Burton a passion to write worship songs to invite in the presence of Holy Spirit.

Minister Burton has recently accepted the call to start a Global-In-Home prayer group where she comes together via Facebook with Dr. Cassandra Scott (Cassandra Scott Ministries) and prays for situations all over the world. Through this ministry, Minister Burton is one of the inaugural graduate candidates in Created2Produce • Birth Your Brilliance, a unique one-year coaching and mentorship program where individuals are transformed by the renewing of their mind according to Romans 12:2 seeing the blessings of God manifested in pursuit of His presence and purpose.

Minister Brenda is passionate about serving God’s people and the world through the ministry of Intercession, being sharpened in her calling as a member of the Body of Christ, and seeking personal and professional growth while sitting at the Master’s feet.
